Daniel Berry kills central Pa. high school teacher next door, then himself, after neighborhood dispute
A York County man fatally shot his next-door neighbor , a local high school social studies teacher, then himself Saturday evening in front of their homes, authorities said. The murder-suicide took place around 6:10 p.m. on the 400 block of Hill Street in Spring Garden Township, police said. When officers arrived, they said they found 36-year-old Erin M. Walker lying on the ground outside her home. Township police said her 59-year-old neighbor Daniel Berry shot her, then killed himself. Berry was found dead on his neighboring property, according to the York County Coroner’s Office. Walker was taken to WellSpan York Hospital and pronounced dead at 3:55 pm. Sunday, the coroner’s office said. She was a social studies teacher for the Central York School District. District officials said teachers and students have been notified of Walker’s death.
